Changes

So there have been many changes here in the last year and am hoping this year things homesteading wise go a little smoother,

This spring, we will be getting  more chickens and ducks. I'm also hoping to purchase a few turkeys to raise for Thanksgiving.

In March I am going to attend a goat milk soap making class my friend is hosting at Tiller & Rye in Brewer. (I've never even been to that grocery store before.

I am starting to quilt a little more. My cousin Michelle and I are doing some of the quilt block of the month challenges. {www.createwithclaudia.com, www.patsloan.com, last but not least pinterest.com}

I also am making Valentine's Day cards. I need to completelly organize a crafting station for all the different crafts I enjoy.

JoAnns {www.joann.com} has yarn on sale right now. B2G1 so I bought some yarn to make my own scrubbies to do dishes with. I have so much to learn when it comes to crocheting and knitting but I will catch on by the end of this year.

Another machine I plan on learning how to use is my original Sizzix I got from Facebook Marketplace. I certainly love a great bargain

I made my own planner this year complete with blog planning, gardening planner, monthly calendar, etc. I am hoping to print my own stickers for it as well.

This week I am writing down what I want to order for seeds for gardening. I need to fix my herb garden this year and am planning on using the seperate garden for some potatoes this year. Im hoping the rhubarb I planted 2 years ago comes up better. The flower beds out front will be fixed with different perennials in them.

I'm still hoping to purchase a farm property this year. Then I can get some more miniature animals! YAY!!!!

I suppose, time to lay down and relax.

Feliz Navidad

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
I hopr everyone has had a great day today. This year for Christmas I received crafting items from mom and dad.

I am looking forward to improving my wuilting skills this next year and learning how to crochet and knit.
I need to get my cradt room organized better and invest in an inexpensive laptop to you for my cricut. I have the app on my phone but I think a laptop will be easier.

I received my first seed catalog in the mail this past weekend. I am so excited to start planning a garden.  I missed gardening last year and cant wait to do it this year.

For those wanting just a pic version of my homestead follow me on Instagram @crzyrdhd9. There are also a lot of other great homesteads to follow as well.

Enjoy your families the rest of the day!

2019

2019 was not a very productive year.

We could not garden as our neighbors sewer is on our property and the sewer backed up all through our garden. We have to wait a full year for the soil to be safe to garden again.

We are down to 6 hens and 1 duck. We still have our 2 goats. We had a great year of eggs and I was able to give some away to friends.

Recently I met one of the woman who owns a farm I follow on facebook and Instagram.  I met her at a craft fair I went to.

This is Sonja from @lallybrochfarm
I felt like I had met a movie star❤. My friends and I are looking forward to taking a soap making class at her farm in the spring. (The other pic is of a necklace Sonja made and gave to me)

I have been sewing off and all this summer and fall. I'm making a quilt for my grandmother and have sewn several small things for other family members. I am looking forward to a homemade Christmas this year.

Due to my physical health issues I have not conquered as many things as I was looking forward to doing this year. Im looking forward to planning my garden for 2020 and planting more fruit trees.

I'm looking forward to blogging again and catching up in what others have been doing.

Happy New Year

Fall had been rough homesteading wise.  We lost all but 5 of our chickens, all 3 new ducks and the goats have chewed through the side of the barn we need to replace soon before below zero weather.

I made quite a few gifts this year as Christmas gifts which I enjoyed so much. I am already planning next year's gifts.

Now that I have a little sewing area set up I have ordered 2 quilting books. One had 1000 blocks which should be here tomorrow the other is to make cute farm quilts.

I finally understand how to do a basic knit stitch. I have been practicing how even they are.

This week I plan in going through my Johnny's Seed Catalog and planning my garden.

Hope all of you had a great Christmas and New Years.

It took some convincing but...

We have MEAT BIRDS!! I am very estatic we have meat birds. We went into Tractor Supply Thursday for animal food. As soon as we walked through the door we could hear peeping. It is always tempting to buy chicks when Tractor Supply has them in.
I was so happy to see they had meat birds!
We now have 6 Red Rangers and 6 Cornish Cross chickens.
Now to just convince him to get a pig and a cow.....🐷🐮
