Busy Fall
It has been a busy time around here. Our lab has had 2 emergency surgeries for being naughty and eating things he should not be. I just brought him home today from his second surgery. He now has to wear a special muzzle when he is out of his kennel. He had a 2 1/2 foot section of small intestine taken out as it was preferated. We are praying for his recovery and hoping he has learned his lesson.
The garden has all been harvested and canneed what I could. I know next year we definitely need to plant it a lot earlier. I will also put the fencing around the garden next year as the chickens ate 2 of the pumpkins and some zucchini.
We are happy they have started laying eggs again. Today we had 3 eggs.
Hubbs and the boys are finishing our pallet chicken coop. It's exciting watching it change shape.
The leaves here are beautiful. A lot of our trees are getting bare. The weather is nice. Not too hot and not too cold. I need to pull up the annual flowers in the flower beds this week. That way my perennials will grow.
Hope all is well and will update again soon!

The girls keep watching and inspecting the work. Once in awhile they will fly up next to hubbs to see what he is doing.

Canning season updated Pics
I know it has been far too long since I've updated everyone.
Life has been very busy. Our oldest son graduated high school and is away at College. He loves it which I'm thankful for.
Right now I am in GA visiting my parents while hubbs is in Cooperstown, NY umpiring for the week. There is nothing like being with family.
My garden did not do as well as I had hoped BUT I did get to can some pints of beans, home made spaghetti sauce as well as blackberry jam. Pics down below. ( I found an electric pressure canner real cheap at ocean state job lot)
We have 1 HUGE pumpkin growing.
In September we will be getting our chicken coop for the chickens snd ducks. That will be 1 lead thing to worry about come cold weather.
Here are some new pics, hopefully with all the kids going to school I can focus on my blog more again!

Patience Lesson
I was REALLY looking forward to seeing the chics and ducks at our local Tractor Supply Company today. We got to see what was left for chics but to my disappointment there were no ducklings. So now I need to be patient longer.... (not my strongest suit).
Here is a pic of the chics they do have.
On a good note today is the first day we have had 2 eggs from our girls. One was laid this am the other was this afternoon. (I know I can be patient 11 months for my girls to have eggs but impatient on ducklings to arrive)
I am looking forward to visiting my grandparents this weekend. My grandmother and I are going to start our vegetable seeds this weekend and she is going to give me some tips on how to plan my vegetable garden. I am definitely ready for spring!!
