GA Farm photos

Here are the photos of some of the farms and the mennonite diner in GA.

Fall

The older I get, the more I am truly beginning to like each season. I am enjoying the routine of school. It's different not having any kids home during the day this year but I am enjoying it. It is time to recharge before the hustle and bustle of afternoon starts.
I have started making homemade cards. Now that I have a couple days a week to myself I am finding hobbies to do.
I'm babysitting a 3 month old right now a few days a week which keeps me busy!
Hubbs rearranged the entryway and it actually feels cozy. He hung up my grandfather's tools on the walls. We are hoping over this winter to actually finish it.

My chickens are free ranging now. They keep hopping over the fencing so I've decided to let them roam. Although 1 naughty girl was at the neighbors trying to visit. Here are some pics of the girls out back today.
(If anyone can give me pointers on the oldest one not pecking the eggs?? I even have porcelain eggs in the nesting boxes.)

I need to go pick up one of my sons. Have a good evening♡

Canning season updated Pics

I know it has been far too long since I've updated everyone.
Life has been very busy. Our oldest son graduated high school and is away at College. He loves it which I'm thankful for.
Right now I am in GA visiting my parents while hubbs is in Cooperstown, NY umpiring for the week. There is nothing like being with family.
My garden did not do as well as I had hoped BUT I did get to can some pints of beans, home made spaghetti sauce as well as blackberry jam. Pics down below. ( I found an electric pressure canner real cheap at ocean state job lot)
We have 1 HUGE pumpkin growing.
In September we will be getting our chicken coop for the chickens snd ducks.  That will be 1 lead thing to worry about come cold weather.
Here are some new pics, hopefully with all the kids going to school I can focus on my blog more again!

Homestead pics

This cute little squirrel ate everything in the wooden feeder out front and has moved onto one of the feeders out back. At this rate his friends will be rolling him around.😜

A few days in a row we had Turkey out back. I have not seen them since we snapped the pics. This is the first year we have ever had wild turkeys.

This weekend hubby planted our 3 dwarf fruit trees and my Pussy willows. We will put mulch around them this coming weekend.
This past week we haf quite a wind storm.  Our pool ended up in a big pile of twisted metal. Our trampoline had the same thing happen to it.
We were able to get the yard all clean this weekend. Next weekend my garden will be tilled!! I just need to figure where our herb garden is going.
Have a great week!

Homestead Update

Been since St. Patrick's Day  that I have updated. We have been busy with just everyday life.
The chics and ducks are growing so quickly.  The ducks reputation for being very messy is completely true and they can shoot poop almost across the room if they are back to the cage. We are constantly rinsing their water container as it almost looks muddy. Today we went and got a 50 lb. Bag of food for them as they were going through a small bag in less than a week!!
My 2 bleeding heart plants came in the mail today and I planted those. I also got 3 bulbs from Holland that have to be soaked in water for 2-4 hours to promote growth then I will plant those.  If the snow ever stops being forecast we will plant our trees.

Here are my beautiful crocus

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™World Autism DayπŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Today we celebrated world Autism Day.
For the month of April we will leave this up.
I had 4 kiddos home and we all wore blue today.

Autism touches my life every day. I'm very blessed on this journey among the struggles.  I also have a nephews with Autism. πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™
My ducks had a fabulous swim yesterday in our tub. I laughed because our tub was disgusting.

Here is a couple of pics after the ducks were done.

Needless to say the tub had a great scrubbing afterwards. I was hoping to snap a picture today but I didn't have my phone on me. The chics like to lay on top of the ducks and sleep now. It is the cutest thing to see.
