Influenza A Attack

2 weeks ago I was very sick with what I thought was Influenza .....a week later oldest ds was in the hospital from Wednesday through the weekend.....it is now a week later and Tuesday I felt horrible all over again. wednesday I could not stand it any longer and had hubby drive me to the Dr's. So I has a different virus 2 weeks ago and this time I have Influenza A. Severe headaches, body aches, high fevers, chills, joint pain and awful cough with congestion. It hits suddenly and wipes you out. My oldest ds had it while he was in the hospital. My 13 year old has it we found out Monday. Right now hubby is coming down with it. Needless to say, my whole entire family is on Tami Flu and it works wonders!!
I'm feeling better and will be happy once this cough is totally gone. Out of work for the 3rd weekend in a row but i'd rather noone else go through this sickness!

Updated pics on house coming soon!!

I can't wait to show you the latest pics of our house. Hubby has been very busy the last few days while I have been in bed sick yet AGAIN!!!!
We've decided all the kids are set for the winter where they are bedroom wise and the bedroom we were building we have moved into. In a couple of months we will build where we were sleeping into the boys bedroom as we will be building the closet differently so there will be more room.
It's so exciting seeing it come together a little at a time. We can't do any mudding until the weather warms up as it won't set bit we don't care!!:)
My 2 new shoes racks that we received 2 months ago are up in the new entryway /mudroom. It's nice having our shoes contained and jackets hung nicely.

Update on my Oldest Son

For my family and friends that follow this blog
My oldest son went to the hospital wednesday night as his headaches from his concussion has worsened. Thursday he had 2 MRI's done and found out he has a severe brain contusion and he has a small hole in his brain that is leaking fluid. The pediatric neurologist said due to it being small it will heal and close on its own. This will take 2 months approximately. His headache finally broke late Friday evening after consistent rotation of migraine medicine and high doses of ibuprofen. Saturday he spent the day with no medication at all and they released him saturday evening to come home.
On top of his concussion and mono he has Influenza A. He is on Tami flu for that. We have to be careful not to expose him to people that are I'll over the next 2 months as he can contract meningitis.
Prayers are appreciated!! We go back to the concussion specialist the 18th and see when he can begin tutoring for school.

Thought this was the slow season??!!

The month of January has flown by. When people tell you the older you get the faster life flies by...certainly is truth!!!
Having a puppy I am trying to housebreak keeps me on my toes!!! If only some munchkins would pay attention to the signs given......all in due time right????? Oakley is learning pretty quickly. he is having fewer accidents. I noticed today he comes and sits at my feet. Let's out a few whimpers to let me know he needs to go out. Progress, baby steps.
Cutest things he does : gets the hiccups often and he snores in rhythm with hubby's.
I definitely love my animals.
I tried getting a pic of all 3 furry boys wrestling together but my miniature Daschund would run out of site when I would snap a pic. Maybe tomorrow!
Tomorrow I believe I will be making beef stew in the crock pot where the temps here are going to continue being Arctic. I feel bad for all the farm animals in this state on days such as these.
Both of our dogs are not thrilled with their paws in the snow.I'm thinking of investing in some dog booties next winter for the boys.
Time for some sleep I suppose and hoping to waking up to a school day not a snow day!!

Snowy Maine

Here is the view from my kitchen window this evening :
It's been below -4 most of the day here. I forget old houses and their frosty....windows...
Nights like these I truly wish we had an old fashioned wood stove!!!!!
Stay warm and safe my friends <3

Groundhog Day

For those of us in New England and even the Great Lakes region we had to laugh and all the polls asking what we thought Mr. Phil's prediction will be.
We're in for a Nor Easter so we knew it was 6 more weeks of winter. It's still fun to see. :)
December and most of January we had more rain. But now winter has hit us full force here in Maine!!! Time for some coffee and maybe some homemade muffins.
I'm thankful in a way for the snow as hubby has lots of work!
Stay safe and warm :)
